How to define a learner’s needs properly and define an effective action plan focusing on specific needs of a particular learner. In a world where ‘dubious’ ELT professionals perform unfair competition, teachers should be able to design specific courses for their students and make a difference.

Alan Amorim has been involved with ELT for over ten years. He holds a BA in Communication and a Grade-A Cambridge CELTA Certificate. He is responsible for more than 1000 students at UP Language Consultants - Universidade Anhembi Morumbi and is currently taking his Cambridge Diploma of English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA). Has also developed a number of support materials for course books, ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and audio CDs, and his fields of interests are teacher development and language awareness.
